CHE 1311 - Chemistry in the Classroom

This course is designed for pre-service elementary educators. We will cover chemical concepts and skills in the context of the Next Generation Science Standards. Topics will include states of matter, physical and chemical properties, atoms and molecules, the periodic table, chemical change, chemincal equations, solutions, acids and bases, the gas laws, and equilibrium. The goal of the course is to provide needed content in an accessible format, with lots of hands-on applications. This course carries one pedagogy lab credit.
