CHE 4030 - Chemical Biology

3
Chemical biology covers the use of chemistry in modern biological applications; such as orthogonal translation systems for the synthesis of artificial proteins, chimeric proteins, in vitro protein synthesis, fluorescent labeling of molecules, genetic engineering of metabolic pathways, and chemical sequencing techniques.  Students in this course will review assigned primary literature and design experimental approaches to solve assigned problems using the techniques learned in the course.
Prerequisite: CHE 3011
Spring, odd years
