GEO 3080 - Globalization and the Environment3 cr (cross-listed with ENV 3080 ) In this course, students consider relationships between the environment and globalization—including economic, political, cultural, and ideological globalization. Environmental problems and possible solutions to those problems are considered. Issues may include, but are not limited to: global climate change, fisheries collapse, “peak oil,” soil erosion and depletion, acid rain, deforestation, groundwater and surface water pollution, estuary health, and ozone depletion.
