NUR 4610 - Healthcare Policy, Finance and Regulation3 cr This interdisciplinary course offered to nursing, business, and political science students, focuses on how healthcare, finance, and regulation policies and legislative processes influence nursing practice and the nature and functioning of the healthcare system in the United States. Students will examine the business principles that underlie how healthcare is organized and financed. The implications of healthcare policy on issues of access, equity, affordability, and social justice in healthcare delivery will be highlighted. Students have opportunities to participate in political processes to influence healthcare policy at the local, state, or national level. BS.NUR and BS.NUR.RN majors only. Prerequisite: NUR 4030 with a grade of B- or better. Co-requisite: Recommend concurrent enrollment in NUR 4615 and NUR 4810 . Spring
