PED 3170 - Sport Communications

3 cr
This course examines the development and execution of an integrated marketing communications plan as it pertains to the industry of sport. The athletic communications offices of college/university athletic departments will be the focus of the class, and topics in professional sports will also be examined. Current events in sport, as they pertain to public relations, brand development and governance, and marketing strategy will also be introduced as discussion topics. Writing, media relations, statistical applications, graphic design, and social media will all be examined as part of this class.
Prerequisite: PED 1350  and junior standing.
