AHS 1620 - Nutrition for Optimal Health and Wellness3 cr This course is designed to expose students to the basics of nutrition and the impact of diet on health and wellness. Students will be introduced to basic human physiology and the role of nutrition in optimal functioning of various physiological systems. The semester will begin with an introduction to basic physiology and basic carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism. Subsequent topics include hydration, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, supplements, and fad diets. This course fulfills the Mathematical and Scientific frame of reference. Fall
