This course is a survey of modern Ireland from 1750 to the present. Topics covered include the long struggle for independence, the transformation of the Irish economy, the rise and fall of the population, and the struggle to reinvigorate Irish language and culture.
This course fulfills a Humanistic Perspective general education requirement.
