INT 1220 - Introduction to Civic Engagement1 cr This one credit course introduces students to the principles of civic engagement and guides them through the beginning stages of Castleton University's Civic Engagement Program. Students will explore what civic engagement is, why it is essential in a democratic society, historically what role higher education has played in civic engagement, and what may be their personal role in the future. Castleton's CE program learning outcomes will be clarified, and by the end of the course, students will have charted a personal path to successful completion of the CE program including service, engagement, and leadership components. Pass/No Pass only Periodically
