This course will examine current theory, research, best practices, and controversies regarding play in early childhood and special education. Students will examine the role of play across the science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) curricula. Multiple approaches to play will be learned to enhance children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
