ENG 3210 - Greek Tragedy (L)3 cr A study of selected dramas by Aeschylus, Sophocles, and Euripides, with attention to their wisdom about mankind and gods. Close readings of these tragedies are supplemented by attention to the Ancient Greek context and to contemporary prose, including Aristotle’s Poetics. Prerequisite: ENG 2260 or equivalent*.
