ENG 3630 - Poetry for Children (L)3 cr This course examines the ways in which poetry and its elements of diction, imagery, rhythm, and rhyme serve to develop and enhance the child’s language skills, literary appreciation, imaginative and creative expression. Mother Goose, R. L. Stevenson, William Blake, W. De LaMare, Randall Jarrell, and Shel Silverstein are some of the poets considered. Prerequisite: ENG 2260 or ENG 2270 .
