ENG 2412 - Twentieth Century Children’s Literature (L)3 cr Including Beatrix Potter, A. A. Milne, Kenneth Grahame, J. M. Barrie, Maurice Sendak, and a variety of other authors, this course examines twentieth century trends in children’s literature. Particular focus is given the development of books designed exclusively for children, the use of fantasy as a counterpane to reality, and the issues evolving from realistic fiction for children. Prerequisite: ENG 1061 and at least sophomore standing. Highly recommended: ENG 1310 . Spring
