The Distinguished Scholars' Certificate program provides high-achieving students with the opportunity to participate in and contribute to a stimulating academic experience with a supportive community of peers and professors. The program encourages a campus climate of intellectual curiosity and academic achievement.
Distinguished Scholars' Certificate students are eligible for membership in the Honors Council and to apply for Honors housing and a competitive scholarship.
This certificate program is open to all students who achieve and maintain a 3.5 GPA.
To earn the DSC, students must complete 12 credits of HON courses, selected from any combination of:
- An Honors-designated FYS
- HON 1010 Great Ideas in the Castleton Curriculum (every Fall)
- ENG 2270 Honors Touchstones (every Spring)
- HON 2020 Special Topics in Honors (two sections of HON 2020 are offered each semester; you may enroll in two sections of this course in the same semester. This course may be taken four times.)
