Activism, Advocacy, and Social Change Minor (AAS)

This minor allows students to focus on current work done in the areas of activism, advocacy, and social change. The minor has a strong emphasis on public sociology, including sociology that speaks to public issues and informs policy, community work, and activism. Students minoring in Activism, Advocacy, and Social Change will learn the skills necessary to do the work of a public sociologist.

Complete 18 credits from the following:

Note that students majoring in Sociology can count only 6 credits in Sociology from this minor toward their major.

Community Studies: Take 2 of these courses
SOC 2130 - The Community in American Society 3 cr
and select 1 of these:

Civic Engagement: Take 1 of these courses
