Chemistry Minor (CHE)

Students must complete the following courses:

• CHE 1041 - General Chemistry I 4 cr
• CHE 1042 - General Chemistry II 4 cr
• CHE 2111 - Organic Chemistry I 4 cr
• CHE 3020 - Analytical Chemistry 4 cr

And complete 8 credits from the following list of courses:

• CHE 2112 - Organic Chemistry II 4 cr
• CHE 2510 - Chemistry Laboratory Teaching Assistant 1-2 cr
• CHE 2910 - Independent Study 1-3 cr
• CHE 3011 - Biochemistry with Discussion 4 cr
• CHE 3030 - Aqueous Geochemistry 3 cr
• GEY 2010 - Mineralogy 4 cr

Note:

Students interested in Biochemistry should select a Biology major and Chemistry minor. The course arrangement for biochemistry is designed to prepare students for graduate schools, professional schools, or a career in biochemistry. Consult with your advisor for a course sequence appropriate for your career goals. The following courses are recommended: BIO 2125 - Fundamentals of Microbiology , BIO 3070 - Genetics , CHE 3011 - Biochemistry with Discussion , and CHE 3020 - Analytical Chemistry .
