NUR 4810 - Patient Care Management Capstone

This senior practicum course emphasizes the application of the nursing process in the care of patients with increasingly complex acute and chronic health problems. Students set priorities in the role of manager and coordinator of care based on the best current evidence and evaluation of nursing sensitive outcomes. Promotion of factors that create a culture of safety and caring within the clinical microsystem is emphasized. Learning experiences include the classroom and a clinical practicum experience in the acute care setting that is facilitated by an expert nurse preceptor.
Prerequisite: NUR 4025 and NUR 4030 with grades of B- or better.
Co-requisite: NUR 4610 and NUR 4615
Lab fee of $449 to cover the nursing pin and ATI services.
