OTA 2011 - Occupational Therapy in Mental Health Settings3 cr Occupational therapy principles and techniques for the treatment of individuals with psychosocial dysfunction are presented in lectures and laboratory sessions. Topics include group dynamics, theory, frames of references, and community services available for individuals with mental illness. Students will learn the occupational therapy assistant's role in assessment, treatment planning, treatment interventions and documentation. Interpersonal skills, group leadership and interviewing skills are practiced through role-playing and community-based experiences. AS.OTA majors only Prerequisite: OTA 1013 and OTA 1014 Fee $50 Fall
